Educately

Educately is Population Foundation of India’s digital resource for information pertaining to adolescent health and wellbeing. The portal aims to provide accurate, age-appropriate and culturally relevant information to positively impact the lives of adolescents.

Educately aims to reach adolescents and all those who play a critical role in their lives, such as parents, educators, community members, policymakers and so on. They are all in a position to help adolescents navigate issues faced by them during their transition to adulthood—such as physical growth, emotional wellbeing, mental health, relationships, among others.

The online portal will soon offer courses on mental health, for both professionals and adolescents themselves.

WHAT DOES EDUCATELY OFFER?

  • An online teacher-training programme, ARSH for You, which enables teachers to understand various aspects of adolescent health and well-being.
  • Curated resources for educators and adolescents on different aspects of ARSH (Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health)

ARSH for You

Population Foundation of India’s work with young people emphasises strengthening the role of educators in providing age-appropriate information on Adolescent Reproductive and Sexual Health (ARSH) to students. Educators are influential and well-positioned in students’ lives to help them navigate their transition to adulthood and sexual and reproductive health. Training educators in ARSH will help create an enabling environment for health and wellbeing education in India. This will shape children’s attitudes and behaviours across generations.

Each participant earns a shareable certificate online upon successfully completing the course.

“ARSH for You” follows the approach outlined in the UNESCO Guidelines (2018) and the IPPF Framework (2010) for Comprehensive Sexuality Education.

Other Courses

Adolescent Problem-Solving Counselling Training (APT)

Population Foundation of India developed a training programme on problem-solving counselling for common adolescent concerns.

There is a growing need for mental health support amongst adolescents. The Adolescent Problem-Solving Training Counselling (APT) course aims to build the capacity of individuals interested in working with adolescents to meet this need. The course teaches an evidence-based, brief problem-solving counselling intervention that equips adolescents with coping skills for their mental health concerns.

Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health (ISRH)

Population Foundation of India in partnership with UNFPA India provides technical assistance to the Government of India in improving the access to quality and rights based sexual and reproductive health services. Recognising the need to develop online and flexible learning alternatives to reach a wider audience, UNFPA has developed this set of e-modules to provide orientation to primary care providers and managers on issues related to integrated SRH services.
