Population Foundation of India will be at Women Deliver Conference, 2019 being held in Canada from 4-7 June. PFI’s delegation to Canada includes lawmakers and parliamentarians at the central and state levels. PFI is also hosting three panels at the event. “Court of Sex: breaking taboos around sexual and reproductive health” panel discussion is being held on June 4th, at a side event. The session will explore the disruptive role of Social & Behaviour Change Communication (SBCC) programmes in pulling down barriers to discussions on sexual and reproductive health. “Engage, Empower, Enact: Investing in adolescent and young people’s SRHR” discussion will witness a conversation among policy makers from India to identify a roadmap for securing collective political commitment for sexual and reproductive health and well-being of adolescents and youth in the country. “Family Planning: a smart investment for women’s empowerment and sustainable development” on 5th June explores family planning as a critical element of reproductive health, economic development and women’s empowerment, it’s the best value for money (Post-2015 Consensus), and a primary driver for achieving SGDs.
